As a photographer since an early age spending many of years doing "traditional" photography, I turned to digital photography at its outset and feel that this has set my imagination free in ways that the older methods did not allow.
"Pillars Of The Malicon", "The Electric Garden" and the "Mexican Jardin" are based on my digital photographs and scans of flowers and other plant life that I have manipulated in the computer to produce unusual results. In one case, the microcosm of a very small orchid spray becomes a group of dancers, in another, the center of a flower becomes the essence of exploding life, a white begonia glows like a supernova exploding in space, a tulip streaks across the frame like it were a skyrocket. The compositions range from realistic to abstract. These photos challenge people to take a different look at Nature.
"American Icons" Is a surreal collection of digital photographs of Harley Davidson motorcycles and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.
